Landers earthquake coseismic displacements
in southern California estimated by interferometric SAR and continuous
GPS (plotted at the same scale). Continuous GPS measurements can estimate
absolute coseismic displacements with mm-level precision but cannot compete
with the spatial coverage provided by INSAR. However, CGPS can be very
useful in constraining the phase-differences at the GPS sites in the SAR
interferograms. One cycle of color corresponds to 28 mm of change in the
range.
