July 21, 2011 This directory contains 41 segment files to be used for the maxwell model. These segments were slightly revised from Bridget's version in two ways. 1) The pojnts were adjusted to better match the USGS mapped faults. 2) Along creeping faults where there is a clear ALOS signal the segment locations were perturbed to match the shapr phase gradient seen in the InSAR. November 7, 2011 Additional (minor) modifications to faults segments were made to S SAF segments to better align with seismicity (see Del Pardo SCEC Poster). Bridget also went through a final round of piecing the segment ends back together. It seems that when the segments are brought into Google Earth, then exported back out, tiny geographic modifications (out to 5-6 significant figures) are made to each segment (why?). All segment ends had to be re-connected in PoD projection (very small changes to location values) and then back back projected as a check. These modifications are not visible in Google Earth unless one zooms in at ~100 meter scales. February 16, 2012 Bug from seg07a and 07b (< 2km spacing), so revised this in km space, need to back project February 27, 2012 Revised seg 37 and 39 so that their junction marks the end of slip rate along seg 37. Previously there was one extra line at the end of each of these files that ran them from their respective junction to the north of the model space, along the same fault line. Their velocities were both reduced to 2.5 mm/yr (sum of 5 mm/yr) along this line. But with inversion of slip rate, we need all segments to have same velocity throughout segment file. So removed the extra line in seg 37 and modified the velocity in seg. 39. to be 5 mm/yr along the northward part of the segment.
