Notes on Experiments for Groups A and B March 11, 2005 Setup for elevator: Triggered CH25 at ground level and placed avvelerometer on floor for a ride up and down three floors. Setup for pendulum: A 1 kg weight was tied to an elastic tube which was fastened two floors abobe the base level. The weight was stretched to sidewalk level, released and allowed to oscillate vertically. The vertical distance between the neutral level and the level where the cord was slack was 1.71 m. This can be used to get the spring constant k. Files: A_elevator.txyx - accelerator held in hand A_elevator2.txyz - accelerator placed on floor, begining and end of data series were edited so clean data can be integrated twice. B_elevator2.txyz - accelerator placed on floor, begining and end of data series were edited so clean data can be integrated twice. A_pendulum.txyz - weight on elastic cord released at sidewalk level - nice data B_pendulum.txyz - weight on elastic cord released at sidewalk level - problem data - use the A_pendulum instead.
